Happy Birthday America!
Happy 4th of July! I am humbled and grateful every year to be living in this country. My place of birth was indeed like winning the lottery. We’ve had a great weekend and Wyatt and Ava enjoyed many firsts this weekend. We packed up and went to the Lake of the Ozarks as Clay’s band played at Captain Ron’s. They got their first play time and and taste of sand on the beach. Apparently a little sand aids in digestion. Got their first dip in the lake and hopefully not too big a taste of lake water. They also enjoyed their first night fireworks and kept pointing “sky” and “boom! boom!” and first overnight in a motel. We were very lucky to have Nana and Grandpa Ed along for the trip as it really does take a village for our brood.
My two little firecrackers are finally down for the count as there was no nap on the 3.5 car ride today and was a long and fun day of playing at the Caldarello’s lake cabin. I’m watching the Boston Pops fireworks and preparing to leave for my 6:00AM flight bright and early to spend the lake with my other favorite firecracker. Lydia has continued to do well since her surgery and has been able to make some weans on the vent. Her nurses made sure she was in her own 4th of July festive gear and sent us a picture.
