Three Little Birds

Story of 3 little birds and one who soared above us all.

Welcome to Lydia’s Loveys (beta)

Yesterday was the official launch of our family’s new mission, Lydia’s Loveys. All the hundreds of soft, cuddly buddies donated by our friends have been put to work providing comfort to families from all over the world who have found themselves in the Neonatal ICU at Boston Childrens Hospital. It was a heartwarming experience to watch the nurses and social workers dig through the boxes of loveys to find just the right fit for the child under their care.

We know, like so many families before us found, just how scary and uncertain those days can be. We hope our small gift can be a source of strength, inspiration, and encouragement.

Lydia’s Loveys is an ongoing gift; it will be our joy to continue this operation, to ensure that every child born into this NICU will find their first friend here.

Our Lydia was an inspiration to many, and we will continue her legacy of influence through Lydia’s Loveys. Our mission is to provide comfort, compassion, research, information, and decision-making support to families with children born into Neonatal ICUs and Cardiac ICUs.

In the coming weeks, LydiasLoveys.org will become a fixture that help to serve that mission. Thank you for your interest in our new organization.

If you’re visiting here, chances are you discovered us from the card attached to one of Lydia’s Loveys. We have a special message for you: Always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. — Christopher Robin to Pooh
