Three Little Birds

Story of 3 little birds and one who soared above us all.

July

I knew my gloating about the joys of global warming in March would come back to haunt me in July. We’ve been busy trying to keep the little household rulers cool and happy in the humid heat that seems to make us all a bit cranky. During the 4th of July holiday we went to Lincoln, NE to again be family groupies to Soca Jukebox and make a 2 day trip of exploring Lincoln. Except for all that tacky red cornhusking stuff all over the city, Lincoln gets 4 stars as a really nice place for a mini family trip. Wyatt and Ava gave good reviews of the children’s museum and zoo and we got to see watch the huge fireworks display from our hotel window downtown while the band kept the party going.

Happy Birthday America from the Lincoln Children’s Zoo!

From the Children’s Museum: do you notice the theme of Wyatt driving everything? Not sure Ava will ever be able to get behind the wheels when they inherit the ’05 Blue Mazda on their 16th birthday as they both have clear gender rules about boys driving and start to cry when I drive and it’s not Daddy.

Every now and then they look like clean sweet children.

This is Amanda, John & Shirley’s daughter. I keep up with y’all even though we haven’t officially met (well, obviously I know Clay but I haven’t met you or the kiddos). Anyway, let us know next time you’re in Lincoln! Patrick would love to accompany his cousins to the zoo or museum (two of his favorite places). Or even to the Dinosaur museum (Morrill Hall).

Looks like you all had a great time! And agree with you – way too much red all over the place. 🙂

    Take care!
